Face-to-Face Tutoring

Note: For Fall 2020, there will be no face-to-face tutoring.  All tutoring will be online via video conferencing or e-tutoring.

Face-to-face sessions are the most common form of tutoring that the WRC offers. These sessions are structured to give you up to 45 minutes of one-on-one time with a tutor inside the WRC. The best way to benefit from face-to-face sessions is to talk with your tutor about what you want to focus on and what your overall goals are for any piece of writing that you’re working on. We encourage you to bring in any resources, assignment sheets, and ideas so that your session will be as productive as possible. Our tutors can offer tips and feedback no matter where you are in the writing process, from initial brainstorming all the way to finalizing a work.

Remember, our goal is to help teach you to identify and understand the strengths and weaknesses of your writing, help you find answers, and help you learn how to research, write, revise, and proofread on your own. We want you to become a better writer, not just to improve the quality of one specific paper.

Any UNC Charlotte student, faculty, or staff member is welcome to schedule an appointment using our online scheduler (uncc.mywconline.com). Walk-ins are also welcome. For more information on how to schedule your online appointment now, visit our Schedule an Appointment page.
